The Bid Coordinator maintains, supports and completes the entire bid process working with other team members in the Purchasing & IT Depts.

* Responsible for all bids from pre-approval to final submission.
* Must meet all bid due dates.
* Responsible for all bid renewals and keeping track of expiration dates in the AS400 and spread sheet.
* Maintains supports and completes the bid process working with other team members in other departments, especially Purchasing & IT.
* Ensures all completed bids meet the customer’s contract requirements.
* Provides bid support to customers externally and support departments internally.
* Have a thorough understanding of IWC’s products, pricing and cost.
* Understanding of nutritional information in the food industry as it pertains to the bidding process- such as Product Formulation Statement, Smart Snack Compliance and an ongoing nutritional information update in the AS400 as well as the website.
* Have understanding and/or knowledge relevant to School Nutrition regulations.
* Maintains records of items added to bids.
* Maintain and file documents in date sequence of bids.
* Maintain and file formal quotes requested by customers.
* Must have good communication skills and a strong “customer service” mindset.
* Should possess a strong sense of accountability and self-motivation to accomplish tasks on time.
* Work overtime as needed.
* Able to work with minimal direct supervision in a team environment.
* Must be able to communicate, get along with and work well with other employees.
* Must be able to read and comprehend all work instructions.
* Working your assigned schedule and coming to work on time is required.
* Work is performed in the Cookeville warehouse.
*NECESSARY SKILLS:*
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Very detailed oriented.
* Self-motivated.
* Able to interpret documents with legal-type language.
* Proficient in Excel.
* Knowledge of AS400 or equivalent program
*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:*
* High School diploma minimum.
* Previous experience with a bid process is a plus.
* Strong financial and/or accounting work experience.
* Nutrition background a plus
*WORK ENVIRONMENT:*
* The noise level in the work environment is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises.
* While performing duties, the employee is frequently required to sit, communicate, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls.
* Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 75% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, 10- key calculator, phone and similar machines.
* Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
