The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Livingston is accepting applications for the position of Building Construction Technology Instructor at the main campus.
Minimum Qualifications * Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Post-secondary credential in Building Construction Technology from an accredited institution preferred.
Associate Degree preferred.
* Must have a minimum of three 5 to 8 years hands-on experience in the building construction field within the last five years.
* Must possess a high degree of knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and masonry * Must possess computer skills * Prior teaching experience * Must possess all required licensures, certifications, and/or accreditation for the field or the ability to become certified and licensed within twelve (12) calendar months *Skills:* * Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationship with students, faculty, staff, general public, and business and industry.
* Must show evidence of good character and mature attitude * Must be willing to remain current in the instructional field * Must possess organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher Duties: The Building Construction Technology Instructor is responsible for: Providing individualized instruction to high school and adult student to prepare them for work in the construction industry.
· Developing and updating curriculum and selecting and developing teaching methods to effectively provide individualized instruction Provide instruction in the theory and hands-on skills in the areas including, but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, brick/block laying, construction math, worker ethics and safety.
Monitoring, grading, and evaluating individual student progress, and maintaining student records in the college’s student records management system.
Participating in the recruitment of students and placement of students in the construction field.
Maintaining an active advisory committee; cooperate with outside agencies; and supervising and follow-up on students in cooperative education.
Working with Dual Enrollment Instructors on programs of study and curriculum for BCT programs · Participating in professional development activities to stay abreast of emerging technologies in the construction field.
Performing other duties as may be assigned by the President and Vice President of the College.
Salary: Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
