We are looking for a medical assistant that works as a scribe 2-3 days/week and a medical assistant 1-2 days/week.
A medical scribe is responsible for listening, observing, and accurately documenting real-time interactions between a healthcare provider and their patients.
A Scribe accompanies the provider in the exam room and records detailed information including history, diagnoses, and medical decision making into the electronic medical record (EMR) on a computer.
Medical scribes can also be expected to assist providers with administrative tasks such as handling phone calls, retrieving lab reports, and other duties to improve efficiency and productivity for improved patient flow and satisfaction.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and interact professionally within a diverse team.
Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the healthcare provider
- Perform basic laboratory tests
- Take patient vital signs and record medical history
- Provide patient education and instructions
- Schedule appointments, manage medical records, and handle administrative tasks
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements:
- Valid certification as a Medical Assistant
- Proficiency in medical terminology, accepted abbreviations, anatomy, and physiology to document exam details and encounters accurately
- Strong knowledge of patient care principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional patient service
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
