UPLANDS VILLAGE JOB DESCRIPTION Job title: Dining Services Associate FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Dining Services Reports to: Director of Dining Services Position summary: Primarily responsible for providing food service to residents by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of dietary menus and therapeutic diets, preparing and serving food, including texture modified and therapeutic diets, following facility menus, current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, in line with our established policies and procedures to ensure that quality dining services, as may be directed by the Dining Services Director, are provided at all times.
Assists in assuring proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures are followed.
Works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, visitors, and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment in the home.
Promotes the residents' psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationship building, and works with the household team to meet other social service needs of the resident and of the household, always providing support, friendship and kindness for each of the household members.
All tasks are performed in accordance with current standards, policies, guidelines and regulations and in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential skill and experience: · Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations, and communicative skills; auditory and visual skills; satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment as required · Sanitary and safe handling of food and equipment.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required Preferred skill and experience: Resident/patient service experience in a dietary environment.
Dietary experience.
Knowledge of standards of attractive food service · Computer proficiency, including word and excel Reporting to this position: No direct reports.
Essential Duties: Provide timely and accurate food service to residents according to menus and/or physician ordered diets.
Provide timely and accurate food service to residents, meeting meal schedules.
Process resident orders/changes according to established department policies and procedures.
Provide timely feedback to the Director of Dining Services and Nutritional Care Manager regarding service failures or resident/patient concerns.
Assist with serving residents food and drinks in dining area.
Prepare food trays according to menus and/or physician orders for meal service in resident rooms.
Record all food temperatures at each meal daily.
Do “Daily Cleaning”, following correct procedures and record on “Cleaning Schedule”.
Work closely with the Director of Dining Services and Nutritional Care Manager to resolve disputed dietary issues.
Keep entire kitchen and buffet areas clean, sanitize and organized to include but not limited to empting trash, sweeping and mopping after each meal and/or on a daily basis.
Wash and dry all pots, pans and dining services laundry after each meal and/or on a daily basis.
Restock buffet area after each meal.
Put away all delivered stock including produce etc.
and break down boxes and place in pick up area.
Recycle any possible items and place in correct recycling bins.
Clean and empty kitchen grease trap daily.
Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves, and proper disposal of soiled materials.
Must maintain skill necessary to safely and efficiently use various equipment and supplies.
Use only supplies that are needed – Do not be wasteful.
Be accountable for and understand all computer systems that are needed for you to perform your job duties.
Any other duty as directed by the Director of Dining Services or Nutritional Care Manager.
