Tutor Bug Preschool & Daycare is a locally-owned and operated licensed childcare center that provides loving care to infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
We are searching for an amazing teacher to join our team!
*Qualifications Include:*
* 18 years or older
* Minimum requirements: High School diploma or GED
* Experience in childcare or teaching related fields (preferred but not required)
* Passion for working with young children
* Positive and patient demeanor
* Passes a back ground check and fingerprints
* CPR/First Aid certification (60 day grace period upon start date)
* Dependable and reliable transportation
*Responsibilities* (includes but are not limited to)*:*
* 40 hours weekly
* Follows child care rules and regulations as presented in Department of Human Services
* Documents and reports suspected cases of child abuse to Child Protection
* Completes first-aid/CPR training every two (2) years
* Assisting teachers throughout the building with restroom and lunch breaks
* Stepping into the classroom to help lead in the absence of the regular teacher
* Collaborating with classroom teachers to develop and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere
* Conducting regular cleaning and sanitizing routines as needed to maintain a clean and orderly building and classrooms (light cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping and disinfecting surfaces)
* Assist with daily tasks such as diapering, feeding, and maintaining a clean and safe classroom enviornment
* Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions as required
* Maintains bulletin boards and doors in the building
* Communicates with parents informally through verbal communication, telephone, and /or Brightwheel
* Informs parents when children are ill or injured
* Completes accident reports when necessary
* Works in collaboration with other center staff
* Maintains general cleaning of the classroom, equipment and materials and shares overall center cleaning responsibilities with all center staff
* Conducts daily safety check of rooms and playground
* Any other duties as assigned by Director
* Informs Director of any safety concerns or supply needs
* Serving children 6 weeks - 5 years in activities designed to promote all areas of development
* Maintain adequate health, safety and supervision of children
* Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families and staff
* Willingness to continue personal growth through continuing education annually
*Physical Requirements:*
* Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children
* Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds with or without help
* Must be able to stand for long periods of time
* Must be able to bend, squat
* Must be able to sit on the floor comfortably
